On November 26, 2024, the Social Research and Standard of Living Section and the Analyses and Forecasts Section of the National Institute of Economic Research, AESM, organized the round table “Social-economic trends in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine: development, challenges and opportunities”. During the Round Table, the main results of the research carried out within the Research Subprogram 030101 „Strengthening the resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability of the economy of the Republic of Moldova in the context of the accession process to the European Union”, institutional funding were discussed.
The discussions during the event were focused on aspects regarding the situation and resilience of the population in the context of the trends and challenges facing the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, on the analysis of opportunities, especially on the dimension of the European integration process.
During the event, the moderators Mrs. Tatiana Colesnicova, Dr. and Mrs. Viorica Popa, Dr. highlighted the importance of the Republic of Moldova to comply with EU requirements by creating sustainable opportunities for the consolidation of strategic segments of the economy, by identifying an efficient financing mechanism, increasing the competitiveness of the real sector, elements that would allow the acceleration of the transition to a sustainable economy.
The session was opened by Dr. Angela Timuș, Scientific Secretary of NIER, who emphasized the importance of the fruitful collaboration between the research institutions of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, mentioning the importance of the main results of the first year of activity of the subprogram.
With an opening word, Dr. Kateryna KOZAK, Director of G.E. Vaynshteyn Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics, Management and Business, Odessa National University of Technology from Ukraine noted the importance of collaborative relations with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in the context of socio-economic resilience.
